Institutional Values

SPIRITUAL PRINCIPLES AND VALUES

1. Love

It is the surrender of our being as a living and holy sacrifice to the Lord, even in the midst of trials, persecution or scarcity.
Appointments: Romans 12:1; Matthew 16:24.

2. Faith

Faith has two fundamental aspects:

a. Objective faith:
It consists in believing in the sacrifice of Christ made for all mankind and in the Word of God as the divine revelation of His will on behalf of mankind.
Quote: 1 Peter 1:23-25.

b. Subjective faith:
It is the inner security and conviction that leads us to trust in God and His Word. Therefore, we live by faith and for faith.
Appointments: Romans 1:17; Hebrews 11:1.

Holiness

It is an expression of consecration to God and separation from sin. It manifests itself in three dimensions:

  • Positional: When we are born again.

  • Experimental: In Christian development and daily life in communion with God.

  • Eternal: When we are with the Lord in heaven and have nothing to do with sin.
    Appointments: Leviticus 20:26; Ephesians 1:4.

4. Unit

We are one body in Christ as the Lord's church. Unity is a requirement of Christ for His people and a call to reflect His image, even with different gifts and ministries.
We form a fellowship in harmony, as a diverse and multifaceted people.
Appointments: Colossians 3:11; Ephesians 4.

5. Integrity

We are called to be people of integrity, that is, people who are congruent between what they say and what they do.
Integrity implies being transparent, honest, fair and maintaining an intimate life with God.
Appointments: Psalms 15:2; Psalms 101:2; Titus 2:7.

6. Generosity

As children of God we should practice generosity: giving selflessly to help others, without expecting anything in return.
It is a principle of sowing and reaping that brings many blessings to those who practice it.
Appointments: Proverbs 19:17; 2 Corinthians 9:6.

7. Commitment

The commitment is a voluntary agreement or pact between two or more parties.
We have a commitment to God, to the family, to the church and to society, to make known the truths of the Gospel, leading a life dedicated to Him.
Quote: 1 Corinthians 9:16.

8. Truth

Truth is the conformity of thought with reality, but more than a concept, truth is a person: Jesus Christ, our Lord.
In a world full of lies, the Christian must live, profess and practice the truth.
Appointments: Ephesians 4:25; Zechariah 8:16.

9. Loyalty

It is fidelity to God, to the people around us and to the institution where we serve.
Quote: Jeremiah 42:5.

10. Service

We should serve God and our fellow men with love, joy and gladness, following the example of Jesus Christ, who, being Lord, became a servant, expecting nothing in return.
Appointments: Philippians 2:5-7; Matthew 20:26-28.
