During the year 2021, the Science area developed the school environmental project (PRAE) called "Recycling we restore the earth". In previous years, the focus of the project has been recycling and this year was no exception; this is because at Colegio Cristiano Integral we believe that learning to sort waste, reuse and recycle bring significant value not only to the school community but to the municipality of Funza and its surroundings.
In the last week of May, July, August, September and October, we collected recyclable materials, including paper, plastic, glass and cardboard, and later we collected iron and aluminum and even some household appliances. In total during these months we collected 3.1 tons of recyclable material.
This initiative brought together the entire integralist community, parents, students, directors, teachers, group directors and administrators joined together to make their class the winner of the activity. The Tingua association was in charge of collecting all the recyclable material collected in the school. In the case of primary school, the 401st grade had an advantage of 62 kg over its competitor, for a total of 707 kg collected. In high school, the class 2021 were the winners of this activity with a total of 400 kg.
The two winners received their awards. The fourth grade students went on a school trip to the Limbalú farm where they participated in environmental awareness activities, games and spiritual reflection. In the case of our 1101 students, they were given a personalized university kit for their next academic step. Additionally, laboratory material was purchased for their use during the next school year.
The Science area expresses its utmost gratitude to the entire community for all the commitment, effort and dedication. During this year, we were the only school doing this activity and collecting a high volume of recycling. Congratulations, we will be back in 2022 with higher expectations. Remember, by recycling we restore the earth.
